Welcome to our PASO Website. This is made possible thru the efforts of Jorge Jandi who unrelentlessly pursue this dream. We hope that thru this "information highway technology, we will be able to reach out, and vise versa, people who are interested in joining our organization or wants to know what is going on in the Filipino-American community in general. We also hope that in time, we will be able to link with other organizatios so that PASO would be visible internationally.
We are in an era of electronic highway information management and the time for PASO to get into the system is now.
By subscribing to PASO, you are guarranted up to date information as to what is going on in our Filipino-American Community.
The Philippine American Society of Ohio was established in 1967. It was originally named PANO (acronym for "Philippine American Society of Northeast Ohio". It's original president was Dr. Victor Vitug who is now deceased. Two years later, it was decided to change the name to PASO (Philippine American Society of Ohio) inorder to include members outside of Northeast Ohio. The term of office for the president and the board members is two years. Initially, the number of board members elected were 20 but later was decreased to 16. The current president of PASO (2010-2012) is Dr. Armando Damian.
In 1997, after years of fund raising drives, and hard work by many of the officers of the organization, especially Dr. Juliet So-Bosita, enough funds was saved to pay in full, the construction of the center at the 5.6 acres of property in Parma, initially purchased in 1988 under the presidency of Dr. Modesto Peralta.
At present, the Philippine American Cultural and Civic Center (or PACCC) has been used extensively by the Filipino community for meetings, dance practice, birthday parties, weddings, etc. It is available for rent to interested party.

This year in November is the election of officers and Board members of the organization. When you received your ballots, please check the names of the candidates who you feel would be good and have the time to run the organization. Our community needs leaders who can take care of the day to day activities, especially now that we have our own community center to take care of.
